The
kafeneion (pronounced as ka-fai-NEE-on) was the SkyPark's basic unit years ago.
Then
they changed it into a grill, so now it is a Gril-LEE-on.
During
the season, it also provides the restaurant with the Greek grill specialties such as Gyros (one of the best on the scene), Souvlaki, Bifteki etc.

Outside
the season, a reduced menu is on offer.
The
people from
CretaNet
once suggested to the innkeeper to deep-freeze the entire range of dishes and on request to heat them in a microwave oven, but he refused to do so and grumbled something about "fresh ingredients".
Right -
here they even prepare French fries from fresh potatoes only.

But
there are anyway still enough of tasty dishes on the reduced menu.
Furthermore,
living in Rethymnon has the advantage that almost twelve months per year one can sit in the SkyPark's foregarden without an umbrella or a coat, enjoying the views of two mountain massifs (Ida and Lefka Ori) where in winter time the snow glistens in the sun from an altitude of 1,000 meters up to almost 2,500 meters (as they just are not higher) ...

The
Grilleion works all-year, except the two weeks around X-mas and New Year's Day.
